Description

View of the Sankt Blasien Abbey in the middle of a town in the Black Forest; the slope facing the viewer is covered with coniferous trees; in the left hand foreground is a group of cows, two figures and a cat; on the far left in the shadow of the hill are two more figures, one sketching. Etching and aquatint with hand-colouring.

Lettered as part of title: "Dedié a son Altesse Monseigneur Martin II Prince du St Empire et Abbé de la Congregation de St Blaise dans les Forets noires."
