Description

Shows a partial view of the harbour, a rich turquoise, from a rutted dirt road in the foreground, through vegetation. Across the harbour, the hills of Wainui are in the background. A red-brown cow grazes beyond the road in the foreground

Probably painted around the end of the 1860s. The artist is known to have been in the vicinity after the wreck of the ketch (probably the "Crest") in 1868 - his picture of Akaroa Heads is dated 1869.
