Description

ROX91. In his 'Flora Indica', Roxburgh describes this plant as a polygamous species. According to Roxburgh, this is one the most common plants on the Coast of Coromandel, and it is also common in Bengal. It flowers during the wet season. Roxburgh also writes: '...amongst the mountains it grows to be a small tree; on the low lands near the sea, it is always a ramous shrub, withgreyspotted bark.' Thedrawing has been inscribed 'Received from Leopard Man of War 30th November 1791' in an unknown hand. Roxburgh, 'Flora Indica' (1832) v.2, p.266.
