Description

Initialled & dated: "1892" "MEN" "OL 1892". Inscription, verso: "Hooker's Green, in the month of May". [Hooker's Green refers to a paint colour, not a place]. From notebooks containing pencil sketches and a box of loose pencil sketches and watercolours by Margaret Newbolt. However, MS note on envelope reads: "Netherhampton. Sketches of [sic] not I think by MEN or Celia but by a [friend?] whose diary illustrates My World as in my time by HN".
