Description

The girl wearing jade pendant on her ear was daughter of the chief Honi Ngatai. She was married to Robley and bore him a son, who was always known as Tauranga or 'Ropera'.--Inscriptions on verso; Part of the collection: Original drawings, notes, etc. concerning the Maoris, New Zealand. Medium: watercolour, pen and ink drawing.
