Description

Earl Temple (the future Marquess of Buckingham) with plumed tricorn in the centre, presiding as Grand Master of the Order at the installation dinner in the St. Patrick's Hall of Dublin Castle, the Knights and guests standing and about to drink a toast, Lady Temple sitting foreground left in front of William Wyndham Grenville (the future Lord Grenville), in the background a gallery with musicians, heralds and ladies. 1783-90. Watercolour and bodycolour, touched with white (oxidised).
