Inscribed, lower edge: "Gt Scheidegg and Wetterhorn in distance, Hostsberg nr Swartz further away".
This is a page from a sketchbook of Swiss and French Alpine scenes, dated summer 1855. The inside cover bears the inscription: "Presented to the Alpine Club by GR de Beer Nov 1955". The artist is unknown.
