Description

Interior of a barber's shop; the barber shaving a peasant at centre, seated holding a dish under his chin, a boy standing near the window on the left, shelves with pots and pans against the wall at left, a paper pinned to a plank partition behind. Pen and brown ink, with watercolour and bodycolour, touched with gold, over black chalk. Verso: Thatched cottages by a road. Pen and brown ink, with grey-brown wash.
