TWW Comment

St. Hilda's Church was consecrated in 1840 and demolished in 1969. It features in a film, 'Congregations Leaving St. Hilda's Church, Middlesbrough' (1902) that can be seen on the BFI's website, and L.S. Lowry painted the building in 1959. The church bells were placed in storage until 1969, before being put on display outside All Saints Church. In 2005 they were moved to their present location on Grange Road.
