Red Cross Street, Cripplegate - Drawn 1851; a street scene outside a row of old wood-fronted buildings with shop signs advertising a bricklayer and plasterer, a tobacconist's and a tailor, in the street outside two children sit on the curb, men carry baskets, a dray loaded with barrels is pulled by two horses and more passersby are visible in the background, to the right a man stands looking at the brightly coloured wares in a fabric shop, in the background a church tower with a clock rises above the buildings to the right. 1851.
