Description

Peat-cutting by a canal, from an album of 102 drawings; a man at left cutting peat from a canal and piling it on the ground, a man and a woman shod with planks flattening it and a man cutting it into bricks with a spade, the bricks being arranged to dry and then stored in cone-shaped piles on the right. Watercolour and bodycolour, over black chalk.
