A British officer standing on a hilltop, wearing military uniform with star on his left breast, and cross suspended on a ribbon around his neck, standing slightly to right, writing a note on a piece of paper, using his bicorn hat as support; a soldier on horseback approaching from behind at right; infantry unit charging in background at left; after Charles Hamilton Smith. 1815. Etching and aquatint with hand-colouring.
