Description

This is one of several unsigned studies of the remains of Coupar Angus Abbey contained in the Hutton Collection. The abbey is located just to the south-east of the town centre, off the main road to Dundee. The only surviving part of Coupar Angus Abbey is a gate-house, and the drawings in the Hutton Collection suggest that this has been the case since at least the late-eighteenth century.
