Description

Watercolour illustration commissioned by William Roxburgh. ROX1474.
In his 'Flora Indica', Roxburgh describes this species as dichotomous plant, native of Bengal, which in a good soil can attain a height of two to four feet. He also reports that it is cultivated during the cold season for its seed, from which the natives obtain an oil used chiefly to anoint their body with.
