Description
Small cluster of farm buildings surrounded by a fence, with a low tree-topped hill behind centre and left, flat land with a stream, further water and low hills to the right.
Copied by Hamley from the drawings of his superior officer, E. A. Williams. The original drawing on which this was based is in the Hocken Library Pictures Collection in E. A. Williams' Diary, p. 9. titled "Martin's Farm". The Library has a photograph of the E. A. Williams' sketch. The military spelling "Martin" is incorrect, according to descendants of John Martyn, the owner of the farm.
