Description

Image depicts a beautiful mountainous landscape. In the foreground, a sailboat has been pulled ashore a small beach surrounded by trees. The roof of a house is evident in the treetops. There is a small island in the centre covered with trees.
Lady Ryan was Jane Georgina Shaw-Lefevre before her marriage. She may have been one of Rachel Emily Hamilton Gordon's sisters. (This is suggested in Sotheby's inventory list.)
