Description

Distant view of the artist's homestead, farm buildings and windmill; snowy mountain, probably Ruapehu, in the background. In the foreground is a man on horseback with another standing beside him. Both are gazing at the view, past a fence and gate. The view shows Fox's original Rangitikei home, built on the river flat. He later built his second home on a higher river terrace, out of the way of floods
