Description

A watercolour version by Woolford of this view "Head of river, runs into Lake Nipissing", 339 x 462 mm., is in N.G.C. (#23438). An anonymous oil of this view is in N.G.C. (67.1.63). See Dalhousie Journals v.2, p. 94 (12 August 1821): "... reached the source of the waters running to Lake Nipissing. I stopt with Woolford to get a sketch of it, but the muskitoes were so dreadful that he could scarcely accomplish it ...." See Woolford notes.
