Description

Presented to the Institute in 1926 by Sir Alexander W. Lawrence, grandson of Sir Henry Lawrence. The artwork comprises watercolours on joined sheets of paper measuring 10 and ¾ inches high and 91 inches wide. It depicts a panorama from outside the walls of the city from near the Gekkes Gate to the Royal Mospue and the river Ravi, with topographical notes in English by Sir Henry Lawrence. A procession in the right foreground includes the infant Maharajah Duleep Singh.
