Queen Victoria ordered the construction of Rhebreck Lodge on the Balmoral estate in 1859. The granite mansion served as the private residence of John Grant, the estate’s head forester, who became a firm favourite of Victoria and Prince Albert (https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/holiday-home-that-has-royal-approval-krh26xpf5)
