Description

Coastal scene at Clovelly, with two figures in a punt in foreground at left and sailing boat behind, figures and boats on the coast in front of a wall; houses along the street at higher level, and on the steep hillside; hills in background; within a rectangular border; illustration to Ayton's 'Voyage round Great Britain', vol. I. 1814. Aquatint with hand-colouring.

Inscription

Lettered in the border with the title in cursive script; below the border 'Drawn & Engraved by Willm. Daniell. / Published by Messrs. Longman & Co. Paternoster Row & W. Daniell 9 Cleveland St. Fitzroy Square London April 1, 1814.'
