Description

An aeronautical view of London; bird's eye view over the city from mid-stream on the Thames, looking towards Westminster; the Tower of London in foreground slightly to right, with docks stretching to the far right; the river busy with shipping, leading up to London Bridge followed by a succession of further bridges along the Thames; countryside beyond city, the river winding its way into the distance on the left; compasses at bottom of view. 1831. Etching and aquatint with hand-colouring.
