Description

Tomb of Gower, in St. Saviour's; a tomb with an effigy of the poet lying beneath an ornate canopy, the figure wears a long blue robe and clasps his hands together, his head is supported by a pile of three books, behind him on the wall is a long inscription in Latin, and in the top left of the image is visible Cardinal Beaufort's Hat and Coat of Arms (1874, 0314. 246) attached to a column. 1839. Watercolour with bodycolour over graphite.
