Description
This is a drawing of a standing stone at Monymusk, Aberdeenshire. A handwritten note under the title reads, '7/4 high, 2/6 broad, drawn by Mr Jas Logan from a sketch by his brother Mr John Logan in 1819. - Mr L says it stood originally in a field, he thinks 4 or 500 yards North East from the church, but it has been removed a short distance from its original situation. It appears in a little publication, entitled "Don, a Poem". The tradition is that it was erected in memory of a Sir John Aikenwall (see the other side).
Collective title: Hutton Drawings > [Volume 1] > Aberdeenshire
