Description

View of the city of Geneva and the mouth of the River Rhone in the centre; a low bridge crosses the river and a small island with some trees on it sits in the centre-left midground; in the centre foreground is a large group of buildings in the middle of the river, those at the edges on stilts to allow water to run beneath; a bell tower rises above these buildings in the centre; Lake Geneva extends into the left hand background; Geneva Cathedral rises above the city in the far right background; snowy peaks in centre right background. Etching and aquatint with hand-colouring.
