View of the tomb in the chapel of St. John the Evangelist; Francis Vere shown lying on a carved rush mattress in civilian dress, under a tomb slab on which is laid his suit of armour, supported by four knights in armour, kneeling; the gothic canopy of another tomb in the abbey behind to the right.
