Goldsworth Gurney's Steam Carriage Company had its manufactory at Regent's Park, and his steam-powered road vehicles were tested on excursions to Hampstead, Highgate, Edware, Barnet and Stanmore. In July 1829 one of his engines journeyed from London to Bath and back.
