Effigy of Isabella of Angoulême, wife of King John, at the Abbey of Fontevraud, study for plate 14 of Stothard's 'The Monumental Effigies of Great Britain', published by Mrs Anna Eliza Bray, 1817-32, one of a large group of studies for this volume; whole-length, recumbent female figure, seen in profile, head at left, hands crossed over chest, also separate study of pattern on the mantle border. 1817. Pen and grey ink, with graphite, grey wash and watercolour.
