June 2. 1864 - While staying at Balmoral, Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. The Queen records in her journal entry of 2 June 1864 how she went "Out with [Princess] Louise & sketched." also describing how "The snow [had] much melted away from the hills".
