In JRR 1912 catalogue (no. 496) described as homestead of David Ward Sr. A watercolour by William Armstrong of the same subject is described in Waddington, McLean & Co.'s auction catalogue 20 June 1975, lot 389 "The Ward homestead, Toronto, Centre Island, August 1885." JRR(1912) 496
