Description

First of two watercolour paintings mounted on page 4. Street scene with two tall houses on one side, from the windows of which people looking at a long procession. The procession is led by a bandmaster who is carrying a pole topped with flowers, he is followed by the band. Two tableaux are being carried in the middle of the procession, one is of a kneeling figure holding a spade, the second is of a large urn of flowers. Inscriptions: [on mount bottom left] "Procession of Gardeners, Fete St.Fiacre".
