Description

Shows Matavai Bay from Point Tahara, looking across to Point Venus. The ship Harpley is seen anchored off Point Venus. Native figures populate the shore, on foot and on horeseback. French barracks are visible at a distance. A cross and 'Where Cook landed' is inscribed in pencil at Point Venus.
