Description
A steam carriage, with a large, black engine underneath, drives along a road, overtaking a horse-drawn carrige beside it, spectators standing on the side of the road. 1833. Hand-coloured etching and aquatint.

Lettered below image with title and: "Drawn by W. Summers./ Engraved by C. Hunt/ Built by Mr. Walter Hancock, of Stratford, for the/ London and Paddington Steam Carriage Compy./ Commenced Running April, 22nd,, 1833."
