Aboriginal Ornament selected from the International Exhibition London 1862 for Henry Christy

Drawing; pl. 43, fig1; a sword handle of brass, decorated in a pattern of small cords arranged in leaf-like loops; fig. 2; a sword sheath of dark brown wood; a floral ornament neatly carved in low relief surrounds the upper part with an intricate plait of straw wrapped round the sheath immediately below the carving.
