Drawing shows Niagara Falls on the American side, looking toward Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side from below. The Terrapin Tower, built in 1833 and torn down in 1873, looms above the falls. Wallis was a British Commissioner from the Foreign Office to the United States in 1853.
