Description

View of Lake Zug in the middle distance; in the foreground are the ruins of the village of Goldau, with a destroyed chalet in the centre, before which a woman cries with her children and a man brandishes a pickaxe; in the right hand foreground are uprooted trees and three other small groups of figures in the foreground; in the midground is the town of Arth. Aquatint with hand-colouring.
