Inscribed: "4 oclock in the morning June 30 1826 from the deck of the andreas / England / 4 oclock in the morning June 30 1826 from the deck of the andreas / 3 o clock Thursday [… taken?] from the starboard […?] / an English ship homeward bound / 300 miles from London / The First Bird I have seen since we left the Thames".

From a sketchbook of drawings and watercolours by Edward Price (c.1823-1854), recording his voyage from London to Scandinavia on the ship Andreas. The drawings are dated between 24 June 1826 and 8 July 1826.
