Description
Coloured lithograph by H.B. (John Doyle), 1840.
Lord Stanley is bowling. The wicket keeper is Sir Robert Peel, while the Duke of Wellington the upright umpire. Among the fielders are Sir William Follett and Sir James Graham. As the title suggests it has been a long innings but Daniel O'Connell on the far right, a lurking presence, could finish it and hints at the Irish Registration Bill
Inscription: Vacation amusements. Cricket (a long innings). HB
