Watercolour and bodycolour on card, Laying the foundation stones of the Memorial to the Late Marquis of Londonderry on Scrabo Hill County Down Feb. 28th 1857, Irish School. The ceremony of the laying the foundation stones of Scrabo tower, erected to the memory of the 3rd Marquess of Londonderry (1778-1854). The Tower was designed by charles Lanyon in 1856.

Inscribed, lower edge: "Laying the foundation stones of the Memorial to the late Marquis of Londonderry, Scabo Hill, County Down".
