Description

This applies to a small portion of the River Nith where a part of the quay forms an angle & where coal boats are usually moored to unload their Cargoes. This name originally applied to a small drain in which a small stream flowed across the Dock from the Dock Well to the river. it is now applied by Sailors &. others to the part of the river above described near which the same stream issues from a covered drain in the Nith.
