Description

A pen and ink and watercolour drawing of five male figures seated around a booth. A man walking away on the left. Inscribed below on the modern mount, probably copied from an earlier one 'A street coffee house Edinburgh'.
During his period working for the Military Survey of Scotland 1747-52, Sandby made many observational drawings of street scenes around Edinburgh.
