Inscribed on preceding page: "Sept 28 Tirano, Chimney brick / house thatched".
This is a page from a sketchbook referred to as the 'Red Album'. One sketch depicts the Christoffelturm in Bern which was demolished in the 1865 - therefore the sketches are thought to date from before 1865. Contains sketches of Switzerland, France and England.
