Description

The harbour at Amsterdam; view north, from a reedy bank at the entrance to the south moat, just opposite the 'Rijsen Hooft' with the Zuyder Kerk on the extreme left, in the foreground, a ship laid up within the 'Oude Waell', guns lying on a low wharf and in the distance, a fleet in the river Y. 1634. Pen and black ink with grey wash, tinted with watercolour. Verso: Two studies of a Dutch East Indiaman. Pen and black ink.
