Portrait of Mrs Abington in the character of Miss Prue, from William Congreve's 'Love for Love', study for Bell's British Theatre; whole-length, standing, with right arm to side and left arm held out, an open snuffbox in her hand, head tilted three-quarters to right, looking to front; in a pink dress with lace sleeves, lace apron, hat with a feather. 1777. Pen and ink with watercolour, on vellum pasted onto board.
