Description

The Big Stone Theatre in St Petersburg was founded in 1783 on the order of Empress Catherine II. The square it was located on was called Karuselnaya to be later renamed Teatralnaya (Theatre) Square. This theatre was part of the Imperial Theatres of Russia.
