View of the coastal fort, with a broad esplanade, arched gateway, and a church spire on the left; seen from the sea with several vessels, including a large sailing ship shown in profile on the right. Colour mezzotint with etching.

Inscription

Lettered below the image with the title, incorporated into a dedication from John Bowles, to 'the Court of Directors of the United-Company of Merchants of England trading to the East-Indies', of the 'Painting in the Court Room of the Company's house in Leaden Hall Street', around the crest of the East India Company, and 'Printed for T. Bowles in St. Pauls Church Yard, & J. Bowles at the black Horse in Cornhill // E. Kirkall fecit.'
