A watercolour showing a view of a ruined tower by the shore of a lake. The tower is shown in the centre, with the lake shown to the left and behind. The distant shore can be seen in the background, with a small boat shown on the water in front. Inscribed lower right: Louise August 26. 1859.
Queen Victoria's children often made cards and drawings for their parents as gifts on important dates, such as this watercolour executed by Princess Louise for her father's 40th birthday on 26 August 1859.
